We all have special memories of particular birthdays throughout our lives, especially for our children. Capture these moments in a unique and beautiful way that will last a lifetime for you and your family!
Cake smash or birthday portrait sessions will usually take 30 minutes to 1 hour at a location of your choice. Typically this location could be at a park, the beach, the city, or even your home but it is totally up to you. I can provide recommendations as well.
A private online gallery is provided and files are delivered via digital download. Additional a la carte ordering is also available. This includes photo prints, canvas prints and more. The print products offered have a standard archival value of 100 years in home display and 200 years in dark storage.
After the photo session, I will post the images (photographer's choice) to your private gallery for you to download. My turnaround time is 2 to 3 weeks of your session date. You will have access to the gallery for 30 days and then it will be deactivated from my website. There will be a re-hosting fee of $25 to re-host your gallery after the 30 days have expired.
When beautifying your photos, I will retouch your face and skin by lightening or removing small scars, small freckles, birthmarks, moles, wrinkles, and cellulite. Special retouching requests will cost an additional fee. This includes adding eyelashes, eyebrows, eye shadow, hair, whitening teeth, and adjusting the size or shape of a person's face, eyes, nose, lips, or body. I can provide fee estimates upon request, and these options are for informational purposes only and not a guarantee of service.
Choosing Time & Date
We’re natural light specialists because we believe that natural light, from the sun and its reflections, create photographs that feel fresh, timeless and truest to you. We begin all portrait sessions one hour before the scheduled sunset during “the golden hour” when the light is the dreamiest. Use a sunset calculator online to determine the scheduled sunset for the date and location you’d like to do your session. Then, just subtract one hour to figure out your start time. Remember, the sun sets much earlier during the colder months of the year and much later during the warmer months, so make sure to factor that in when choosing your portrait session date, especially if you’re taking off work or have evening plans afterward. To get the most out of your session, please plan a buffer when getting ready so you can arrive a few minutes early to your session and be ready to start on time. We’re only able to shoot when natural light is still in the sky, so we’ll want to take advantage of every minute we have together before the sun goes down. If you’re wearing two outfits, save your favorite one for the second half, and if you’re wearing one, arrive in that.
Selecting the Right Location
The location of your portrait session is up to you! Most of our clients choose to showcase the natural beauty of our city. For most of our sessions, outdoor, open-air environments are always our first choice. We love shooting in wide-open natural spaces because the light is divine, especially during golden hour. There are great options all around the city, so even if you've never seen us photograph in a specific spot before, we’re always up for exploring a new spot together!
Travel within a 25 mile radius of the 92111 zip code is included. Distances over 25 miles will require a travel fee of $50 and is for up to 50 total miles. For locations over 50 miles away, please contact me to arrange.
