Hi there, I'm Yuka! I'm based in sunny San Diego California. I’m originally from Japan and I’ve been on this incredible journey as a photographer since 2015. I focus on the fine art of maternity, newborn and family photography, capturing the precious moments of life with grace and simplicity.

My style is natural, relaxed, and timeless yet modern. I’m passionate about creating beautiful images that reflect the personality and emotion of your story. I’m also a mom of daughter Estelle was born in 2021 so I know how to make your photo session fun and comfortable.

I'm a devoted wife to my husband, Nathan. Together, we've been proud parents to our lovely furry companions, Indy and Melody, who crossed the rainbow bridge in July 2023. You can still find Melody's pictures on my website and Instagram because I miss her every single day.

My artistic journey started early, at the tender age of 2, in my hometown of Nagoya, Japan. Over the years, I dabbled in commercial architecture design and even explored the vibrant world of American art and fashion in New York City. Eventually, I settled in picturesque San Diego, where I spent 12 years honing my skills working with a web graphics team at a golf company.

My life took a unique turn when I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in my mid-thirties. Faced with a life-changing decision, I ventured into the world of fertility treatments, including multiple IVFs and consideration of surrogacy. Despite the challenges, the miracle of a natural pregnancy came to fruition, and I gave birth to our daughter. This experience deepened my connection to family photography, especially during maternity and newborn sessions. It's not just about capturing images; it's about cherishing the bonds and special moments that families share.

I'm over-the-moon that you've discovered me, and I'd be absolutely thrilled to be your photographer. Get ready for an incredibly delightful journey capturing memories together!

Cheers,

Yuka
